QUICK FACTS
The Name: Angeles is Latin in origin. It means messengers of hope. Literally, the name means University of United Messengers of Hope.
Conception: University of United Angeles was conceived in Loma Linda California in 2008, carried on to Rwanda, New York, Tanzania, Burundi, Northern California, British Columbia, Alberta, and was born and registered in Sacramento California on February 14, 2018... and so shall continue the story of the University reaching out to people as friends, institutions as allies, and nations as home to home to the university.
Mission Statement The mission of University of United Angeles is to educate and graduate job creators; field practitioners, educators, researchers and scholars irrespective of each student’s chosen field of study.
Theme: The theme of the University is Unity in Diversity.
Monuments Monuments on campus shall include: (1) Thomas Jefferson address in a doctoral graduate gown, writing in a book the words: “We hold this truth to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights that among these are the right to Life, Liberty and pursuit of Happiness”, and (2) Dr Martin Luther King Jr with his right hand raised and the left hand on the podium, “We must learn to live together as brothers and sisters or perish together as fools.” More monuments shall be built on UUA campus to promote the theme of the University.
Song: The song of the University is Nkosi Sikeleli UUA, God Bless UUA, sang in Zulu, French, Spanish and English.
Official Holidays: Celebrated on UUA main campus are the New Year's Day, 1 January; Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr., 3rd Monday in January; Memorial Day, last Monday in May; USA Independence, 4th of July; Veterans Day, 11 November; Thanksgiving Day, 4th Thursday in November; Christmas Day, 25 December.
Animal: The animal of the University is the African Lion: UUA stands strongest on job creation degree programs and research, sports, and diversity.
Bird: The bird of the University is the Canadian flying goose, escaping extreme Canadian winter conditions, and returning to Canada in early Spring to lay eggs. The bird is a symbol of our students who shall come to UUA campus in search of knowledge, skills and resources before returning to their countries of origin as productive members of their communities.
Graduation Day: The graduation day shall be the First Day of Spring (March 20th).
Beverage: The beverage of the University is University Spring Water.
Gifts: The gift of the University shall give are the Native American bow and arrows, the Masai batik, and UUA flag in a glass with the words: You are Appreciated.
Motto: The motto of the University is FOR EMPLOYED COMMUNITY.
Flag: The flag of the University is Red and White large horizontal strips – with the white strip between the two large red strips, with white stars at the top right corner of the first letter U. The stars represent six years of service preceding faculty sabbatical leave.
Prayer: Lord Build this University, Take Pleasure in it, and Be Glorified in It, Haggai 1:8.
